Home, Retirement & Other Misadventures - The Series
Retirement was supposed to be the quiet part.
For Kay, it begins on Earth with a husband, a dachshund, and a dragon egg that turns an ordinary home into something considerably less ordinary. Later, after loss changes the shape of that life, she heads for Proxima b in search of peace, privacy, and a retirement community that looks very reassuring in the brochure.
Golden Hour has other plans.
There are sea serpents in the lake, wildlife with little respect for property lines, dragons with flexible ideas about ownership, dogs with opinions, neighbors who are far more interesting than Kay intended them to be, and an HOA capable of turning almost anything into an administrative event. And just when the residents think they have restored some sense to the place, an Akita inherits a fortune and an oversized beaver arrives with a suspicious connection to the deceased.
Home, Retirement & Other Misadventures is humorous science fiction about family, grief, friendship, second chances, strange animals, and the persistent human ability to carry bureaucracy all the way to another planet.
